A SCHOOL has been given the all-clear after fears of an outbreak of whooping cough proved to be unfounded.
Two pupils from Greenwich Steiner School, Kirkside Road, Greenwich, were diagnosed with symptoms of the potentially-fatal cough, including a sore throat, a cough and dizzy spells.
But doctors have told the pair they do not have whooping cough and they have been cleared to return to their studies.
Last week News Shopper reported a parent's anger the children were allowed back into school six days after being told they had whooping cough symptoms.
But parent Kendall Noyes, who also helps to run the independent school, says it adhered to Health Protection Agency guidelines throughout.
She said: "We followed the same procedure as every other school would.
"The children took antibiotics for six days, which means the cough is no longer contagious."
