A LOLLIPOP lady has received a fond farewell after clocking up more than 19 years of service.
Jackie Gibbs, 58, of Derry Down, Orpington, patrolled the roads outside St Philomena's Primary School, Chelsfield Road, Orpington, before retiring this year.
The mother-of-three, who was also a midday supervisor at the school, was given an amber necklace and money towards a pair of binoculars by the school at a farewell assembly.
Headteacher Mary Riley said: "She was a very large part of the school and she kept our children safe. She will be sadly missed."
Mrs Gibbs said: "It was a wonderful goodbye. The children were in tears and so was I."
