"Caring and cheerful" Christina Wright has been nominated as one of Bromley's best nurses by Doris Middleton.

Mrs Middleton, of Kingsworth Close, Beckenham, chose Mrs Wright, who is a district nurse at the Beckenham Clinic, in The Crescent.

Mrs Middleton said: "She is so caring, cheerful and gentle. In fact, so are all the other nurses at the clinic."

Mrs Wright, aged 54, said: "I was actually very shocked and embarrassed to be nominated, but equally very honoured and delighted.

"I very much appreciate this but I feel I cannot take all the credit as I am just one spoke in a large wheel, it's team work that keeps it all running smoothly."

The mother-of-three added: "I love working with people, interacting and I love the committment. I'm lucky that I really enjoy my job."

Mrs Wright was also nominated by her daughter, Caroline.

Miss Wright, of Burford Road, Catford, said: "If anyone deserves this, its my mum.

"It would be great for her to get some well deserved recognition for all the hard work she has done, especially as she would never expect any thanks.

"I know mum loves her job and all her patients are so fond of her.

"Mum simply wants to provide excellent care to those who need it She's one in a million and throughly deserves this nomination."

Mrs Wright was also nominated by Josephine Braddock, of Beck Lane, Beckenham. Mrs Braddock said: "Christine is very kind, efficient and devoted." Pratik Shah, of Croydon Road, Elmers End, also had praise for Mrs Wright.

He said: "Christina is very organised, especially when it comes to getting all the necessary dressings and appliances sent to the patients."

"Helpful, caring and professional" were the words Pat Bruce, of Downs Hill, Beckenham, used to describe Mrs Wright.

Lisa Mortimer, of Pickhurst Park, in Bromley, also nominated Mrs Wright, simply calling her "the best district nurse".

Futher praise came from Sally Reynolds, of Hazel Grove, Orpington.

Ms Reynolds said of Mrs Wright: "She is a lovely, kind, helpful and very efficient nurse."

Sandy Shaw, of The Drive, Beckenham also nominated Mrs Wright.

Ms Shaw said: "Christina is hardworking, kind and always has a smile. She works over and above the call of duty."
