POLICE seized £250,000 worth of cannabis in a drugs swoop.

Officers from Bromley police raided an address in Belvoir Close, Mottingham, on March 8 and recovered about 1,000 cannabis plants.

Heating, lighting, ventilation and watering equipment was also found at the house.

Cahn Vhan Ngyen, aged 22, of Belvoir Close, Mottingham, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on March 10, charged with the cultivation of cannabis.

He pleaded guilty and was given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Inspector Andy Johnstone, who led the raid, said: "The closure of this factory will be a blow to the criminals who are involved in supplying and producing drugs in the Mottingham area.

"I urge anyone with information about the production or selling of drugs to call us on 020 8284 8715."
