CHILDREN were taught the secrets of poetry, story-telling and writing during a school's literacy week.
Year seven and eight pupils at Kelsey Park Sports College, in Manor Way, Beckenham, were visited by three literary talents.
Miles Chambers, of Bristol Black Writers' Group, held a workshop in which he demonstrated how to find inspiration and gave general writing advice.
The pupils, aged between 11 and 13 years old, were also visited by the storyteller Jan Blake and playright and novelist George Layton.
Literacy coordinator Hugh Laden said: "It was the best we have had yet. The spontaneous applause which came for visitors was amazing."
