NEW OPENING HOURS: The Hogshead pub in Sidcup High Street has applied to Bexley Council to vary its planning permission to allow it to open until 11.30pm from Monday to Saturday and 11pm on Sunday in line with its new alcohol licence.

QUIET MOMENT: Foots Cray Baptist Church in Sidcup Hill will be opening its doors from 10am to noon every Saturday from April 1 for anyone who wants to spend a moment of reflection, say a prayer or escape the hustle and bustle of the day.

SMART CARD: Christchurch Community Safety Action Zone in Bexleyheath has issued a Wise Up card aimed at young people and packed with tips on how to travel safely. It is available from libraries or by calling 0800 389 5013.

SPRING MARKET: Bexley Country Market is hosting a spring market at freemantle hall, Bexley Village High Street on March 25 between 10am and 1pm. Home-made cakes and handicrafts will be on sale. Entry is free.
