LANDLORDS: Greenwich and Lewisham's private landlords can attend a meeting on Friday which will outline changes to housing legislation which will be coming into effect in April. The event will be held at the Lewisham Civic Suite, Catford Road, from 9.15am to 1.30pm. Changes to legislation include compulsory licensing for all "high risk" houses and new powers to bring empty properties back into use.
REVISION: Students in Greenwich can prepare for exams by joining Saturday revision classes. The sessions were launched at Eltham Green City Learning Centre, Middle Park Avenue, last Saturday. The revision classes are also being held at John Roan School, Westcombe Park, and the Abbey Wood City Learning Centre, Eynsham Drive, until May 27.
CLEANING UP: Police and council workers took to the streets last week as part of a week-long operation supporting a London-wide clean-up. In Eynsham Drive, Abbey Wood, clean-up teams removed graffiti and litter and installed bins and flowerbeds.
CHARITY CASH: The manager of an Indian cafe presented the mayor of Greenwich with £100 for motor neurone sufferers. Pam Ryatt handed the cash over after mayor Dr Paul Tyler opened the Punjabi Dhaba, Anglesea Road, Woolwich, on March 8.
