A QUEEN has been chosen to lead a carnival but organisers still need to find more performers and helpers.
Preparations for this year's Northfleet Carnival on July 1 are well under way.
Tijana Micunovic has been chosen as the 40th carnival queen and will lead the procession of 20 floats from Canal Basin to Womble Park.
The 14-year-old, who attends Gravesend Grammar School, is looking forward to the event.
She said: "I am really glad I have been chosen. It is going to be a once in a lifetime experience."
Carnival chairman Dave Taylor is looking for performers to entertain revellers and helpers to organise the event.
He said: "We need groups who can keep people entertained in the park.
"Previously we have had bands, judo clubs and dog handlers."
If you can help make the carnival a day to remember, call Mr Taylor on 07979 074517.
