SHOPPERS are to be targeted by a team of health workers raising awareness about tuberculosis (TB).
Last year, 39 people in Dartford and Gravesham were treated for the respiratory illness.
As part of World TB Day, a team from the Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Primary Care Trust (PCT) will hand out leaflets to tell residents how to avoid the illness.
They will be available to answer questions and provide information about vaccination programmes at Asda, Thames Way, Gravesend, between 10am and 2pm on March 24.
TB administrator Emma Gale said: "TB Alert, an international charity, asked health professionals to raise awareness among the general public, which is why we chose to have a stand in a supermarket."
