A LORRY driver got more than he bargained for when his vehicle became wedged under a railway bridge.
Roads and a train line were closed for several hours after the lorry tipped sideways and became stuck.
Police received a call from the driver at 2pm after his vehicle became wedged under the bridge in South Eden Park Road, Beckenham.
Roads between nearby Links Way and Hawksbrook Lane were closed and train services across the bridge were suspended as a rescue and removal operation was carried out.
A recovery vehicle removed the lorry and the roads were reopened nearly four hours later.
An ambulance also attended but there were no reported injuries during the incident on March 2.
A spokesman for South Eastern Trains, which operates a Hayes service on the line running over the bridge, said: "The line had to be closed immediately. We ran buses between Elmers End and Hayes until 5pm."
