A HIKER from West Wickham has been found dead in New Zealand.
Elizabeth Thomson, 55, of The Crescent, disappeared on February 25 while walking alone in Arthur's Pass National Park on the country's south island.
New Zealand Police said the body was discovered on March 2 by a search team in the Grahams Stream area of the park. It appeared to have been there for several days.
Keen photographer Mrs Thomson had been touring New Zealand since February 4 and was due to fly home on March 17. Her son and daughter have flown to the island.
A report on Mrs Thomson's death has been referred to the Christchurch Coroner.
