YOUNG "councillors" had the chance to quiz the Mayor of London on a trip to learn more about local government.
Twelve school council representatives from Balgowan Primary School, Balgowan Road, Beckenham, attended a London Assembly meeting at City Hall and participated in the Mayor's Question Time.
Thomas Sprackling, aged 11, asked the Mayor how winning the Olympic bid would benefit all children.
Mayor Ken Livingstone said although investment for the Olympics was centred around East London, it would provide facilities for all children.
He added after the Olympics are finished, some sites would be dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere.
Teacher Sue Meheux said: "We took the children along so they could have a flavour of how their responsibilities on the school council are mirrored in local government."
