I am interested to see where the writers of Coronation Street take the Eileen and Eddie storyline.
For those who don't watch, Eileen was having a relationship with convicted murderer Eddie.
Having served his time in prison for killing Emily's husband years ago he returned to ask Emily's forgiveness bringing out the worst in all characters.
None were willing to accept he had served his time and was a changed man who had repented deeply for his actions.
What are the writers saying by this? That we are unable to become better people and learn by our mistakes?
Eileen was ostracised by the street and ended the relationship Eddie (at the time of writing) had to leave.
Surely the writers are planning to come back to this storyline and not leave us thinking we shouldn't forgive or give people a second chance?
