A SUPPORT group is looking for people with good listening skills prepared to help carers talk through their fears, frustrations and grief.
Carers' Support (Bexley) wants to provide a service to people caring for an adult or child who is frail, ill or disabled.
It says carers are often under great stress and feel isolated.
Many have put their own lives on hold to take on a caring role and have lost touch with friends.
Others are struggling to come to terms with their relative's illness or disability.
In these circumstances it is often easier for a carer to talk about their feelings and find their own solutions by talking the situation through with someone who is not a family member or friend.
Carers support would like to hear from anyone who can offer a couple of hours a week for a minimum of six months who can take on the role.
Training will be given and there will be supervision from a trained counsellor and support from the group.
Expenses will be paid. The two-hour, six-week training course begins at the end of April.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help.
