Stephanie Ward from Earlsfield will have her poem, Shortcut After Dark, printed in the south-west London edition of the Young Writers' Association book.
This year's competition for primary schools, run by the association, received more than 70,000 entries. Simon Harwin assistant managing editor said: "We had a lot more entries this year. Children seem to be writing more than they ever have done in the past."
The judges commented on Stephanie's imagination, perception and use of language.
She said: "When I get bored I write quite a lot of poems."
