Marcus Thornley's article regarding pidgeon mess under bridges definitely touched a nerve with me. I live on Sussex Road and have the "luxury" of a choice of one of four railway bridges to negotiate in whatever direction I choose to walk.
I have followed the Wandsworth case with interest and was pleased that a decision was returned to allocate some responsibility for cleaning the pavements of this filth.
I was however particulary interested in the Wandsworth Council spokesman's reasoning for the judging of bridges on individual merits.
I am sure that if the council netted the underside of nuisance railway bridges then the invitation for wild pidgeons to go there would be instantly withdrawn.
