Terry's delight: After umpteen proposed signings that have disappeared into thin air, Dons manager Terry Burton is said to be on the verge of a deal which could bring Ipswich Town defender Wayne Brown to Selhurst. The 23 year old has been out of favour at Portman Road since the arrival from Wimbledon of Iceland international Hermann Hriedarsson. Should a transfer prove impossible, Brown could be arriving in south London on a loan arrangement, with the possibility of staying permanently.

Fantasy League: Every fan knows how simple it is to manage a football side, and now they have the chance to prove the point. New PC game Football Manager, the FA Premier League 2001 gives them the chance to prove it.

Ex-Dons boss Joe Kinnear was invited to try it out and concluded: "There is a lot more to management than what you see on the screen, but it is not far off and I can see where they are coming from. I think it's quite good if only because I won more matches with this game than I ever did at Wimbledon."

Come off it Joe. In the real world you won more than two.

Morgan misery: But the less pleasurable side of football has hit young Lionel Morgan who broke his ankle in the U19 Academy match against Birmingham City. The highly rated 17 year old had managed to force his way into first team contention this season, but the nasty injury could keep him out of any sort of action for at least three months.
