Charlton Athletic broke their transfer record, previously set at £4m for Claus Jensen, by signing Wimbledon's Jason Euell on a five-year contract for £4.75m.
The former England under-21 striker (above) made 141 appearances for the Dons, scoring 41 times. Last season, he was their top scorer with 19 goals in 36 games.
Manager Alan Curbishley said: "I've brought him in as an addition to our strike force, but one of the attractions of him is that he can play in a number of different positions."
