The first ELO album for 15 years is more of a one-man band than the fully-blown concerto.
Jeff Lynne has left his former bandmates to pursue their sequel band course with ELO II to play, write and produce the lot (George Harrison and Ringo Starr guest to help with publicity or because they're mates).
Harmonies, strings and a big sound are less evident on this collection with less life in its grooves but it's good to see the spaceship back.
