Wimbledon manager Terry Burton says his team will continue to focus on winning football matches despite all the off-field problems.

Just as they did last season, the Dons hammered four goals past Crewe on Tuesday night, with Wayne Brown, David Connolly, Kevin Cooper and David Nielsen hitting the target.

Striker Connolly was obviously feeling no ill-effects after limping off against Sheffield Wednesday with cramp in his hamstring.

Victory against the Railwaymen was welcome relief from a run of seven league and cup games without a win, and the Dons travel to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday determined to maintain that goal-scoring form.

Last Saturday, the team produced a spirited 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

On-loan Celtic striker Tommy Johnson headed the Owls in front from a corner five minutes before the interval, but Wimbledon hit back in the second half through a Michael Hughes volley from 10 yards.

Despite picking up just one point, Burton says his team played some good football.

The players showed good commitment to the cause and they worked hard to get something from the game, he said.

My main concern is to help the club win football matches I dont want to go on about the situation off the pitch.

The Dons boss said younger players like Joel McAnuff, Mikele Leigertwood, Wayne Gray and Patrick Agyemang had filled in well for the clubs current crop of injured stars.

All the younger players have taken their chance well, said Burton. With the injury list we have got I have to give them a chance. These youngsters all have a part to play at the club and it will give me a nice problem when all the players get back from injury.
