(Division Three)AS THE O's secured an easy win, young midfielder John Martin, 20, capped a fine display with Orient's second and his first senior goal in his 41st game.

On 16 minutes Billy Jones swung in a free-kick from the right hand touchline and with the ball glancing off the head of Dave McGhee it fell to an unmarked Steve Watts to guide home a header past Ian McCaldon in the U's goal.

Six minutes later a miss-placed pass in the middle of the park fell to Watts, who released Martin with a perfectly weighted through ball.

Out pacing Dean Whitehead, Martin smashed home a powerful shot across McCaldon in to the bottom corner from just outside the box.

A tame backward header from Smith just before the break gifted Oxford their best chance of the half. But as Jamie Brooks tried to chip an out rushing Scott Barrett, the keeper divert the ball wide for a corner.

Orient showed they weren't going to rest on their lead at the start of the second half and their pressured paid off on 59 minutes, when an umarked Jabo Ibehre headed home Jones' corner from inside the six-yard box.

A delighted Paul Brush said: "We played very well in spells and I thought we had a lot of a power and pace when we went forward, which saw us score some good goals.

"I was also very pleased for John Martin, and if he hadn't got the ball caught up in his feet a couple of times he would have probably been on a ten out of ten."
