The various draws threw up a number of interesting ties none more so than the U11 tussle between neighbours Banstead Rangers and Banstead Town, writes David Goldsmith.

Early Rangers pressure paid off with a goal by Danny Simons from Dale Smith's cross. This was the start of a glorious half for Simons who added goals after 11, 14, and 17 minutes.

Town pulled one back at the start of the second half but Rangers cemented their 5-1 win 10 minutes through James Mabbut from close range.

West Ewell Wanderers U13A won for the second week running beating Division Two side Roundshaw Colts 4-2.

Roundshaw led 2-1 at the break despite Dean Wilson's goal but Daniel Willis equalised early in the second half. With the tie heading for extra time, George Sturt made it 3-2 and a left footer from Sean Wilder secured their place in the next round.

Tom McKinley and Leigh Miller scored for Mead A in their 2-1 win over Warren Mead.

Mead B had a far easier time in reaching the last eight, beating second division Walton Heath 7-2. Mead were pinned back to 2-2 before pulling away in the second half. Their scorers were Aidan Jackson-Evans (two), Nathan Quincey (two), Tom Strong, Michael Deane and Bradley Coombes.

Of 78 cup matches played from U8 to U17, there were only three draws including AFC Ewell U11s' 1-1 draw with Oakway Sports B. Tony Payne smashed home a super goal to give Ewell the lead but Oakway grabbed an equaliser just before the final whistle. The replay is at Oakway on December 8.

AFC Ewell U16 fell behind before beating Warren Mead B 6-2. Adam Riches scored a hat trick, Anthony May got two while Steve Wildey scored a superb 30-yard volley.

Stoneleigh Boys U13 showed the difference in class between the first and second divisions by beating league 100 per centers Warren Mead C 5-0. It was 0-0 in at half time before Jack Fowler, Matt Donovan (two), Jason Barker and Jon Chamberlain netted.

In the league, Stoneleigh Boys U15 beat Corinthian Casuals 9-0 with Alex Toogood scoring seven times and Per Mosegaard and Omar Ibrahim getting the others.

Alex Keeley, Danny Anderson, David Bentley plus an own goal from a corner by man of the match Daniel Kashi gave Stoneleigh Boys U11s a 4-1 win over Oxshott Royals.

Mead U11 continued their good form by coming from behind to beat Nutfield Rangers 3-1. Josh Longhurst and sub Daniel Knellar (two) got Mead's goals in the second half.

In mini soccer, Stoneleigh Boys U10 put Tadworth Terrors B out of the Division One/Two Cup with Marcus Dowdeswell and Andrew Hunnable scoring. Jake Wilgoss was man of the match.
