Local people living at some 2,700 addresses across the borough are being asked to take part in a comprehensive borough housing survey commissioned by Croydon Council.

The company Fordham Research is conducting the survey of properties in the private housing sector on behalf of the council to assess their condition as well as to establish the housing needs of residents. This is the third such survey which has been undertaken by the council.

Said cabinet member for housing and best value, Coun Tony Newman: "Everyone deserves a home which provides a safe environment in which to live. To ensure that our plans for the future of Croydon include sufficient affordable housing to meet local needs, it is vital that we have up-to-date accurate information.

"These surveys are carried out every five years and give us an insight into the condition of properties in the private sector and enable us to target our resources to meet the greatest need."
