Barnet Football Club is urging residents to contact the Times Group with their views and questions on the club's proposed £12million stadium after refusing to get involved in "slanging matches".
Bees chairman Tony Kleanthous is frustrated that his plans for the 9,000-capacity stadium are being "misinterpreted". He has agreed to answer residents' questions in a special column in next week's edition.
Barnet FC's PR consultant, Dennis Signy, said of the move: "Barnet FC welcome this Times Group initiative to highlight the issues surrounding the planning application for the new stadium to the south of Underhill. Chairman Tony Kleanthous and I have decided not to get involved in tit-for-tat slanging matches with residents and councillors."
The plans have met with protest from residents in Barnet Lane and Westcombe Drive while uncertainty has remained over the future of Barnet Cricket Club since the proposals were announced in October.
Mr Signy added: "We would like to set the record straight so everyone will know the club's thinking and desire to get it right for everyone."
