Woking 3 HEHC 1 (Dec 1)

In recent weeks a win has proved elusive for Hounslow and Ealing 1st XI, who were hoping to rectify this on Saturday in Woking. With the home advantage, Woking attacked from the start, putting the H&E defence under sustained pressure and taking a one-goal lead. To further compound their frustrations, the H&E attack struggled to find the back of the net despite slotting one past the Staines keeper for the equaliser, and the visitors found themselves 3-1 down at the end of the match. This result drops H&E to eighth in the National League Div 1.

Staines 1 HEHC11 1 (Dec 1)

Undefeated so far this season, Hounslow and Ealing 2nd XI were looking to continue this form when they travelled away to Staines at the weekend. Knowing that it would be a hard game, H&E started strongly and came close on a number of occasions. However, a mistimed tackle on a Staines attack resulted in a penalty stroke for the home side and a goal to put them ahead.

Staines maintained the pressure for the rest of the half and saw a further two goals disallowed, giving them only a slender lead into halftime. H&E came out hard again, pressing for the equaliser, and the home side had few chances to increase their lead. With only 10 minutes left, a well worked ball from defence found Megan Williams unmarked in the circle and the Staines keeper had little chance of preventing the equaliser. In a frantic final period, both teams were feeling the pressure but the match ended in a deserved 1-1 draw.
