I am delighted to read of the "flying start" of your campaign to save Bromley Youth Music Trust and am writing in support of it. As a parent of two children involved in the Trust's activities, I have always been hugely impressed with the organisation, with the enthusiasm and commitment of its staff, the range of activities and opportunities offered and the exceptionally high standards attained.

Not only does the Trust nurture the musical development of its pupils, it also provides a strong and valuable social network for many young people (arguably, dare one say it, "keeping them off the streets"?).

I find it astonishing that the Borough should even consider jeopardising the future of one of its most successful educational organisations, something of which it should be hugely proud, and which attracts families to the Borough and keeps them here. This simply cannot be allowed to happen.

I have written to my local councillors and would urge all other supporters of the Trust to do the same, for the sake of our children and indeed for the reputation of the London Borough of Bromley.
