A sonic equivalent of a sore thumb Needleye's platter virtually rips itself free of any competition and charges straight for the kill, writes Jo Pitches.

Sounding as though it's been crafted by an altogether different mind-set from its peers, any lesser effect would be hard to find. Vast tidal waves of post-industrial electronica, reverberating,

demonic vocals, laden with distortion and quirky, stabbing synths, characterise the trio of tracks on offer, This Machine is especially cutting.

Imagine early Fear Factory spliced with Ministry and ladle on a generous scoop of pre-Hymn-styles, and therein lies approximately half the picture.

This is likely to induce unflattering facial contortions, equally unflattering comments and manic dashes for the eject' button from some particularly those who are unaccustomed to monumental darkwave, aural destruction.

But this lot have carved a niche of their own, eschewing everything from their path.
