Abbey Wood Grange Day Nursery pupils got the chance to display their paintings depicting their favourite toys at Purley Pools leisure centre this month.

Purley Pool's customers marvelled at the colourful exhibition created by children as young as three months.

The exhibition is just one of a series of public displays organised by Croydon Guardian and produced by local schools.

Staff member Sarah Black said: "Its been lovely seeing all the children's paintings in the leisure centre. It's a real boost for the nursery."

The public exhibitions are part of the Guardian's efforts to work hand-in-hand with education in the borough.

A photography exhibition of work by pupils at Old Palace school went on display at Purley Pools on November 28 and will be on show until December 10.

After that Westdene School will be displaying a 2ft by 3ft collage of Father Christmas from December 10.
