Wimbledon visit struggling Stockport County this Sat-urday in depserate need of a pick-me-up after a run of poor results.

Last weekend, the Dons lost 3-1 away to Coventry City, who are flying high and looking for a quick return to the Premiership.

First half efforts from on-loan Lee Mills and Lee Hughes split by Jobi McAnuffs goal for the Dons gave City a 2-1 half-time lead. But David Thompson sealed the game in the second half for the Sky Blues.

The result leaves Terry Burtons side in 17th place, just six points off the bottom three.

Burton praised Roland Nilssons side for the way they played and singled out Sky Blues marksman Lee Hughes as the difference between the sides.

Coventry are the best side we have played because of their pace, he said.

They have a great threat in Lee Hughes. He is a first class striker with an excellent work rate.

Their goals were not lucky we did not defend certain situations and the defenders have to do better.

Our approach play has been reasonable, but we have not had the threat up front.

Burton is still trying to strike the right balance in an effort to propel the Dons back up the table.

We need to find the right formula and we need to work harder, because we are under-achieving, he said. There are games we should have won. Its disappointing, because should be higher up the table.

The Stockport game means a return to an old club for Wimbledons Kevin Cooper, who says he is looking forward to the match.

Stockport is always the first result I look for, he said.

Having been there for four years, they are a club close to my heart.

The Dons will be without Swedish international midfielder Hakan Mild, who has a groin strain, and Northern Ireland international defender Mark Williams.

But Neal Ardley could regain his place in the starting line-up after his successful return to the side on Saturday.
