A dog who was left cooped up in a garden shed for three years has received an award from a national charity.
Tooting resident Tina Caird adopted Max, a Leonberger, after he had been cruelly treated by his previous owner.
Mrs Caird said: "He was very matted when I got him, which took several months to remedy.
"But now he is as right as rain and doesn't have a nasty bone in his body."
Max was selected by PRO Dogs, founded 25 years ago "to defend the rights of dogs and responsible owners", to receive an award at the charity's annual luncheon in Surrey last weekend.
