Mid-Sussex 13 bt Chipstead U18 10
Mid-Sussex, a club, newly formed from a merger of Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, came to Chipstead with a large squad and nicked the points.
The visitors missed two penalty attempts in the first 10 minutes but continued pressure forced Chipstead handling errors which allowed Mid-Sussex to score a converted try.
Chipstead then gave away a penalty.
But Chipstead's forwards then took the game to their opponents and a 40-yard run from No 8 Ben Cox created a try in the corner for Alex Boodt.
Shortly afterwards a sweeping move led to a try from prop forward James Lister.
In the second half the visitors got a solitary penalty to take the match.
Chipstead have their first league away game of the season against London Scottish next week.
