IT could be a happier Christmas for needy local children thanks to a partnership between the Salvation Army and Boots the Chemist.

For the third year running they are running the Pass the Parcel appeal, which provided nearly £2.5m of gifts last year.

To take part, drop off a new, unwrapped gift for someone aged up to 16, at the Boots store in the Broadway shopping centre, Bexleyheath. People are asked to donate gifts for teenagers, particularly boys.

These will then be collected by the Salvation Army, wrapped and distributed.
