London Mayor Ken Livingstone was criticised by his Liberal Democrat opponent for the post, Susan Kramer, when she spoke at a special event organised by Chingford and Woodford Green Liberal Democrats on Saturday.
It was held at the United Free Church, High Elms, Woodford Green, and included a cheese and wine lunch and a band playing live music.
Mrs Kramer spoke in particular about transport issues in London and "life with Ken.
She said Mr Livingstone should be getting out and about more, speaking to Londoners about their viewpoints on the problems facing London.
She also gave a comprehensive review on transport, saying that improvements in bus services particularly relating to new buses and more effective bus lanes should be noticeable within a year or so.
She valued the expertise of Bob Kiley and only wished the government would hand responsibility for the London Tube to Transport For London under a sensible scheme not the fragmentation of the Labour government's planned Public Private Partnership.
