With more than 2000 adult education courses to choose from and a pot of money to assist students who have financial difficulties, Croydon's Continuing Education and Training Service (CETS) is making sure everyone has an opportunity to take part in further education.
Anyone over the age of 16 who is in receipt of benefit or on proven low income can apply for money from the Access Fund to help meet the cost of course fees, childcare, exam fees, essential course material or travel.
Since September some 117 students have benefited from the fund.
Importantly, the Access Fund can now be used to help students on any course offered by CETS which will enhance skills, competence or personal development and therefore contribute to any future training, education, employability or self-employment.
With enrolment for January's courses starting on 3 December, Croydon is encouraging anyone who would like to develop their skills to seek further information.
