(Middlesex Senior Cup Second Round)ENFIELD TOWN wrapped a well deserved away win on Monday night over Ruislip Manor, a victory which sets up a plum home tie with Ryman League Wealdstone.

Town started strongly and both Jamie Morris and Danny Clarke were busy up front, with Volkan Gundogdu pressing forward whenever possible.

The home defence was stretched as early as nine minutes but Danny Alleyne shot wide. Kevin Riley also blasted a half-chance into the side netting on 16 minutes when another Alleyne shot wasn't properly cleared.

A number of good efforts resulted from all the visitors' pressure and it came as no surprise when they finally went in front on 26 minutes.

John Everitt took full advantage of the Ruislip defence's failure to clear the danger again when he pounced on the loose ball to fire home.

Victor Asambang quickly had a chance to level the scores, but his 35th minute shot failed to hit the target.

Ruislip were made to pay for that miss just five minutes later, when Town extended their lead with a typical solo goal from Clarke, who saw off the attention of two defenders on the edge of the penalty area before firing a low shot beyond keeper Matt Ward.

Asambang, who was causing the most problems for Town, went close with another effort on 43 minutes but the visitors finished the half on the attack.

Following the restart Town began the second half where they had left off in the first and Morris grabbed a third on 53 minutes, when he cut in from the right and, with the help of a slight deflection, his effort found the back of the net.

Andy Hall pulled off a spectacular diving save on 66 minutes to deny Martin Layzell and despite a late surge and a consolation effort by Asambang on 76 minutes the visitors always looked likely to hang on in comfort.

Enfield keeper Hall was able to make a name for himself before the end when he saved a Daryl King penalty on 83 minutes to ensure the massive draw against Ryman Division One side Wealdstone in the next round.
