The winners of the Sutton road safety competition run by Sutton's Road Safety Unit received their prizes from the Mayor Councillor John Leach last Saturday.

Daniel Joyce, 12, picked up a new mountain bike and the second prize of cycling accessories went to Louise Mahe, 11. All entrants, aged 10 to 16, had to answer road safety questions and identify 12 defects on a bike. They also had to say why they thought cycling was the best mode of transport.

The competition was the brainchild of 17-year-old Drew Macey while he was on work experience with the council.
