Police are this week hunting a gunman who held up staff at a fast food restaurant in Thornton Heath stealing cash from the premises.
The suspect, an Irish man, waited outside McDonald's restaurant on London Road for ten minutes until the cleaner left the premises at 11.40pm on Saturday (May 25) then forced his way into the building.
He ushered several members of staff into an office threatening them with a handgun. He took an undisclosed amount of cash from the office before making his escape on foot down London Road towards Thornton Heath Pond.
