A TERRITORIAL Army soldier from Bexley has received a medal from Princess Anne for a six-month tour in Bosnia .

Lance Corporal Ian Liscoe, 28, returned from the war-torn country in May after a stint as a combat electrician for 97 BritFor Signal Squadron.

He received a medal from the princess in Blandford, Dorset, along with other members of the team.

British soldiers have been working hard to ensure the future peace of Bosnia through patrols and by meeting people.

L/Cpl Liscoe's squadron maintained vital communications between camps in the country.

Ian said: "It was hard work but very enjoyable. I got to travel a lot and work with people from other nations. I would do another tour in the future."

He added: "The princess asked me how the tour went and what I do in civvy street."

As a civilian, Ian is a duty station manager for Railtrack.
