CONGRATULATIONS to Bookerhill School on taking the Notcutts best school gardening project award in the Wycombe in Bloom Competition 2005. Their winning project had a rainbow theme with a South African twist. Each school year was responsible for a tub of flowers in a rainbow colour. The area includes a decorated pergola and is used for outdoor lessons and at lunch time. The judges praised both the involvement of the whole school in the project and the fact that the area can be used by everyone in the school.

THESE EFFORTS at Bookerhill also earned them a runner up award at the Wycombe Partnership Community Showcase Awards ceremony which took place at the Town Hall on Tuesday. The school nomination was in the Community Project category.

MORE CONGRATULATIONS and these go to Eric Phillips of Cressex Road who came first in the hanging baskets and containers section of the Wycombe in Bloom competition and to Alec Norris, also of Cressex Road, who was second in the front gardens section. Many congratulations also to Jean Wiles who came top in the newcomers section. Although Jean lives in Stokenchurch she is a member of Booker & District Horticultural Society.
