A man found murdered in a Streatham flat has been formally identified.

Andrew Charles Brown, 28, was found dead on Friday, November 8, at his flat in Percy House, Pringle Gardens.

Mr Brown, who lived alone, owned a motorcycle shop, Trade Scooters Direct in Westcote Road, Streatham.

Originally from Norwich, he moved to London about two years ago.

On Thursday, Mr Brown left work between 6.15 and 6.30pm. in his red P-registered Vauxhall Vectra. He briefly visited someone in Ribblesdale Road, Streatham, during which time his car was double-parked in the road with hazard lights on. But police said the car was seen outside his flat around 6.50pm.

Friends and relatives became increasingly worried when they had not heard from him by the next day.

Mr Brown's girlfriend called a locksmith to enter his flat at 2.30pm, when he was found dead and police called.

A post-mortem held at St George's Hospital on Saturday gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.

A murder inquiry has been launched by the Serious Crime Group led by DCI Darrell Shephard.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone with information regarding the murder or Mr Brown's movements, between leaving work and being found dead, to come forward.

"We would also like to hear from anyone in the Norwich or Norfolk area who knew Mr Brown, who is white, when he lived there.

We are keeping an open mind at this stage regarding the motive."

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area on the evening of Thursday, November 7, or on Friday, November 8, or who believes they have information about this murder is asked to contact DCI Shephard on 020 8284 7610.
