Police are offering a £30,000 award for further information leading to a conviction about a murder which happened in November last year.

Brian Perry, 63, was found dead in Southwark on Friday, November 16, 2001.

Police are still seeking information about the whereabouts of a grey Ford Escort saloon between October 10, when it was seen in Streatham Vale, and November 16, when it was founded abandoned in Silwood Street near Southwark Park.

The car had a false registration number of P41 KSP.

Mr Perry, a Kent businessman, arrived at his minicab business Blue Cars at Creedon House, South Bermondsey on November 16, 2001 at around 1pm, when a man wearing dark clothing and a black balaclava approached and shot him three times. Police pronounced him dead at the scene.

Officers are particularly anxious to trace two men seen in the area, one of whom was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava. He was seen leaving Verney Road on foot and turning into Credon Road where he entered a waiting car, which was driven off by someone in dark clothing.

Two men were also spotted leaving the Escort in Silwood Street at around 1.15pm on November 16.

Detective Inspector Paul Astbury said: "We have had no clear indications as to why this murder was committed. We want to hear from anyone who knows anything about the Escort or the two men in dark clothing. We are hoping the reward, which is offered jointly by the MPS and Mr Perry's family, will generate some interest and move the investigation forward. Call 020 8217 6530, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
