Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 44-year-old man was murdered in Brixton.

Detectives from Operation Trident made a one-week anniversary appeal on Saturday, December 7, at the scene of the murder of Tony Nicholls

Police spoke with members of the public and motorists in the area, hoping to generate witnesses to the crime.

Police were called at 5pm on Saturday, November 30, to reports of a man injured near the Euro Car Centre on Tulse Hill, close to Brixton Water Lane.

They believe Mr Nicholls, who was black and of no fixed abode, was sitting in a stationary silver Mercedes when he was shot by a black man.

A postmortem confirmed the cause of death as gunshot wounds but police are currently retaining an open mind about the motive. If you have information call 020 8785 8056 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
