A TELEVISION programme detailing the effects the drug Seroxat can have on normally mild mannered people could save a woman from a conviction of assaulting a police officer.

Gemma Philliskirk, 28, of King George's Avenue, was due to appear at Watford Magistrates Court last week to face the assault charge, and another charge of failing to provide a breath test, following an incident on Tuesday, July 23, last year.

Her brief Mr Patrick 0' Reilly, however, asked for an adjournment to allow time for an expert to prepare a report to back his case.

He told the court a documentary had brought to light possible side effects of a drug his client had been prescribed.

Magistrates adjourned the case until Wednesday, February 26, to enable the report to be compiled and give time for the prosecution to view its contents.
