BISHOP'S Stortford-based company Photonic Products has been presented with a prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise the UK's top award for business performance.

The company, based at the Twyford Business Centre in London Road, won an award in the International Trade category in recognition of its substantial growth in overseas earnings and continued commercial success.

Over the last three years Photonic Products, which was founded in 1995 and specialises in the distribution of laser equipment, has seen a 352 per cent increase in overseas earnings.

Managing director Tony Pope said: "We feel very honoured to have our company's international trade growth recognised by the Queen's Award for Enterprise.

"The worldwide market for high quality industrial laser diodes and products has remained healthy against all odds, and we are very excited at the opportunities the award will open."
