It is shameful that instead of celebrating the success in keeping Edgware Hospital open for at least limited healthcare, both the Tories and Labour have hijacked this into the arena of party politics over who ought to participate in the pomp and ceremony for the opening.
The real heroes in this saga are members of the local community, like Stan Davison, who fought assiduously to save the hospital, and the previous Hendon MP, Sir John Gorst, who resigned the party whip when the Tory Government refused to keep the hospital open.
