THE Rotary International charity, Rotary Foundation, is looking for local beneficiaries for its annual Ambassadorial Scholarships which assist students and other qualified young people.
The scholarships enable people to study in another country. During the study period the scholars are expected to be outstanding ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host country.
After their studies are completed, normally nine months, participants are expected to share their experience with people of their home country, and with Rotarians who sponsored their scholarship.
Funding for the scholarships is provided to cover all transport, all normal course fees and reasonable room and board costs.
Applicants can select their preferred study subject and the country and university they wish to attend. Rotary Foundation Trustees do, however, reserve the right to make changes in either the country or university chosen.
Application forms can be obtained from Bob Constable, a member of the Rotary Club of Rickmansworth, on 01923 772972.
