A massive police hunt is underway for a prisoner who escaped from Wandsworth prison this afternoon.
Police are searching for Eamon Donaghue, 27, who is believed to have vanished from the prison between 1pm and 1.30pm today.
The Irishman is white, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build with green eyes and light brown hair.
He was serving time for joyriding and assault on police.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said detectives were unable to provide details of what clothing Donaghue was wearing at this stage.
Police are making a thorough search of the area and have deployed a police helicopter, the spokesman said.
Police are advising the public not to approach the man and dial 999 if he is seen.
