HUNDREDS of thank you cards were presented to Ealing Primary Care Trust in recognition of its work in improving diabetes services across the borough.
More than 12,000 people in the borough have diabetes and the Ealing Diabetes UK Voluntary Group gave scores of thank you cards during a special presentation on Wednesday.
In some GP practices in Ealing, more than five per cent of all patients, or twice the national average, have been diagnosed with the disease, particularly among people of Asian or African and Caribbean descent.
Robert Creighton, Chief Executive of Ealing PCT, said: "We were all absolutely delighted to receive the thank you cards. It's not every day that a voluntary organisation offers encouragement of this sort and we value it highly."
