You reported an invitation by developers to conjure up names from aviation history for new developments in the south of the Adastral Village for a bottle of vintage champagne (Take part in estate's name game', April 17).

Those looking for our leafy village should not look in Grahame Park as indicated, because it is not there. It is not even in the same ward, but straddles Lanacre Avenue, just before Montrose Avenue in Burnt Oak.

The village, formerly the Adastral Estate, predates the Grahame Park Estate by many years as part of Royal Air Force Hendon.

The 19 streets of the village north and south of Lanacre Avenue carry the names of Royal Air Force units from Acklington to Tangmere, at which Royal Air Force and allied air forces operated in the Second World War.

The best way to preserve our history and remember those who served would be by the re-adoption of any names lost by the new work.
