A film screening of Oscar winner Denzel Washington's directorial debut, Antwone Fisher, is showing at Streatham Odeon to raise money for Dr Barnardo's.
All proceeds from tickets sold for the film, which stars Washington and is based on screenwriter Antwone Fisher's own childhood experiences, will go towards the charity's work with disadvantaged children.
Mr Fisher said: "The film covers sensitive issues which are often hidden away by society.
"I hope this film will show people that these need to be uncovered and if you have been through childhood trauma, you can survive.
"Organisations like Barnardo's help these people move on with their lives.
Tickets for the screening, which is on May 13 at 7pm, cost £6 and are available by phoning 0870 5050007 or online from May 6 at http://www.odeon.co.uk
